Activity Overview

Purpose
This meeting aims at:
1.   Providing a forum for resident presentations in the field of anesthesiology.
2.   Giving participants an opportunity to meet both in an academic and social environment.
3.   Encouraging interdepartmental communication and and cooperation among participating programs.

Target Audience

The target audience consists of resident physicians representing anesthesiology programs located in the Southeastern United States.

Program Objectives

1.   Presenting scientific information
2.   Discussing latest techniques in the field of anesthesiology
3.   Fostering communication among anesthesiology residents of the Gulf Atlantic Region

Abstract Submission & Formatting Guidelines

The deadline for the SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSION of the abstract and Disclosure Form is: March 21, 2012, no later than 11:59:59 PM (EST.) To ensure the initial acceptance of your abstract, strictly adhere to the following guidelines.

  1. Abstracts must be single paged.
  2. Font: Times New Roman, size 11 or 12.
  3. Margins: Left = 1.5 inches, all others = 1 inch.
  4. Include complete title in bold.
  5. Limit the use of special font effects to “bold,” “underline” and “italics.
  6. Contact information (e-mail, phone and fax) for the presenting author must be displayed immediately below the title of the abstract.
  7. Images not included with the abstract submission may be included in the PowerPoint presentation.
  8. Provide 2-3 bibliographical references as part of the abstract.
  9. State, in the body of your e-mail, your presentation’s format.

3.   Original research

Time Allotment
Each presenter must strictly remain within the following time limits:

1.   10 Minutes – Presentation
2.     3 Minutes – Q&A period

Registration
The $200.00 registration fee includes all educational sessions and materials, participation in the welcome reception, continental breakfasts, breaks and awards luncheon. The $100.00 guest fee includes participation in the welcome reception and awards luncheon.
